Sary Oi is a great day trip from Osh, with easy access, gorgeous scenery, and a break form the summer heat. Sitting in the Alay region south of Osh, you enter this jailoo valley from the main highway and walk around 3 hours to the end of the road (you can drive too…). There are yurts and a couple guesthouses along the way, or you can arrange to stay in the yurt at the end of the road through the Alay CBT ( around 1000som for the night and breakfast).
How to get there: Take a Gulcho bound marshutka or taxi from the Kelecheck bazaar corner in Osh. It will cost 150som. Driving, you go through the Arches on the M41 and head south. You will go through the Chiricyk Pass (2600m), and you wind back down. After passing the village of Tash Koro, and just past the Kilometre 71 sign, there is a turn off on the right with a sign saying RESERVE. Get off here and start walking! You will stay along the Jilu Suu river the entire time.
